Sue Fox

It was in the late 80”s that I first entered the caring profession, initially as a volunteer.  This brought me to consciously cultivate the deep felt sense that this work calls for.

My training and work began in the field of addiction, a subject very close to my heart, and somewhat shrouded by myths. It was front line work in residential centres, working with both individuals and the families. After several years I then decided to study.

Substance Abuse and Process Addictions have continued to be a theme throughout my work. However, I now take this experience into teaching, and supervision, and work with clients who are in recovery, and want to address the deeper and more complex issues that lead to such suffering and destructive behaviour.

In 1994 I qualified as a psychotherapist, and went on to complete several postgraduate trainings. I continue with ongoing professional development to keep abreast of current thinking, research, and practise.

I have a private practice in NorthWest London, and am currently a Supervisor for the Institute of Psychosynthesis.

Around seven years ago I began to move away from teaching and training.  My attention turned towards the field of relational trauma, and neuroscience., This context is now deeply embedded in my work as a practitioner,  and have done some training  in EFT and body work

I am also part of a group of psychotherapists who have a shared interest in step –families; we have set up an organisation called Stepinasap.  We bring our own professional and personal experience to help raise awareness of the forces, and developmental stages that are innate within the new family make-up. One of my roles within this organisation is to bring it more into the public domain, into schools, magazine articles, TV shows, so that our shared knowledge can become accessible to anyone.

I am accredited with UKCP and a member of the Confederation of Analytical Psychologists
